Grade cards and mid-term
academic
progress reports.
Students receive grade reports at the end of each of the four quarters. These
reports are given to the student as soon as possible after the grading period
ends, except for the last grading period when the final grade report will be
mailed. Academic Progress Reports are distributed in the middle of each grading
period to parents of students who need some type of special attention. These
reports do not necessarily mean that a student is failing, but a deficiency is
noted which needs correction. If the correction is not made, the student could
possibly fail for the period.
HONOR ROLL
Composed of those students with all As and Bs for a given quarter marking
period.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
The National Honor Society gives recognition to outstanding high school
students. Beginning with the graduating class of 2007 candidates must have a
3.6 average and the following characteristics: Character, Leadership, Service,
and Scholarship. Each of these factors is weighed in evaluating candidates.
HONOR GRADUATES
Seniors with the following grade point averages at the end of the 15th 9 weeks
grading periods are honored with the following graduation honors:
HIGHEST HONORS 4.0+
HIGH HONORS 3.77+
HONORS 3.57+
A valedictorian and salutatorian will also be designated and recognized at
graduation.

Computation of final grade average: In figuring final grades the following is
used:
Quarter grading: Average of all work for quarter.
Semester grading: Three grades (two quarter grades and one exam).
*All year long courses will be graded / credit given on a semester basis .
Course grading: In blocked classes, students will be given 2 semester grades
(value doubled) and two exams
For all AP or Honor courses, a .05 will be added to the GPA of those
students who complete those courses with a final grade of C or better and
complete the AP Exam. All students who take an AP course will be required to
take the AP exam for that course. The Board of Education will pay half of the
cost, the student will pay half.
ALL CLASSES REQUIRE 5 POINTS TO RECEIVE CREDIT; SEMESTER CLASSES REQUIRE 2.5
POINTS.
An exception to the above is the policy that in year courses, an F average for
the second semester means a grade of F for the course. Every effort shall be
made to notify parents as this situation develops, but the responsibility still
belongs to each student. At least 2 points must be earned second semester.
Quarter/Semester incompletes must be completed by the end of the 4th week after
the incomplete period ends. Failure to do so will result in an F for the
incomplete grade.
